Ideas: Moving BUCA Forward

This page will be the hotbed of Tory thinking here at BUCA! The new committee is determined to make BUCA bigger and better - we have around 100 members on the books, so let’s get you guys active… as well as adding to that number!
This part of the website will list various ideas that the committee has for future events, campaign days, socials etcetera etcetera, so you, our members, can get a quick glimpse into what goes through our minds and what we have planned for you.

Basically we don’t want to go ahead and book something that yo guys aren’t really that interested in in your masses, so we need your feedback.

If you see something on this page that you like, or even dislike, then please contact us.

Email any of the committee with your views - contact details are available on the About Us page.

So, without further ado, here’s our latest collection of ideas for taking BUCA forward this year.

  • BUCA-only campaign days for local candidates, on days suited to the schedules of our members
  • Stronger relationships and network with other relevant societies to increase interest, cross-membership as well as helping to provide bigger and better socials, events and activities
  • While Laser Quest trips are seemingly unappealing, perhaps other testosterone-filled inter-party activities will be better - football anyone?
  • Regular monthly or bi-weekly meetings. This time during the evening, to make it more accessible to our members - chats about politics and current affairs at some of Clifton’s best bars, accompanied by meals - perhaps even Sunday roasts?!
  • Hall reps - Fresh and Refresh are mass rumbles with every society fighting each other off for your signatures and money. Plus we can’t move more than 2 meters from our stall, so sometimes gathering up interested people is harder than we would like it to be. Therefore, Hall reps would be able to drum up support within Bristol’s various halls, as well as helping to spread advertising further than before.
  • If I’ve forgotten anything then it’ll be up here soon!

Keep checking this page, as well as you email inboxes for new ideas from your dedicated BUCA committee. We’re always thinking of new, exciting and productive activities to engage you guys, but we need your support. Tell us what you want to do, tell us what you want from this society. All of the committee will be happy to accept support, criticism as well as any queries, so do not hesitate to contact us.

UPDATE: EMAIL QUESTIONNAIRE

Everyone who is on the BUCA mailing list should have received an email detailing our plans for the coming weeks. Possibly the most crucial part of it is the questionnaire at the bottom, which we invited you to reply to. The details are posted below:
