BUCA’s AGM is taking place this Thursday (22nd March) at 6pm in the Will’s Memorial building (room tbc) to vote in a new committee for 2007/08. Every member is encouraged to attend to have their say and to keep the society active. The following committee positions will be elected

Chairman
Takes primary charge of running the society and ensuring the society focuses on its core aims. Role involves many tasks including liaising with committee, Bristol agent and CF, organizing events, chairing weekly / committee meetings and arranging speakers.

Deputy Chairman
Helps out the Chairman in many of their tasks and takes on the role of chairman when he/she is not available.

Treasurer
Handles all the money the society receives and spends, his/her tasks includes keeping the committee up to date on finances, keeping records of all transactions and budgeting for the year.

Secretary / External Affairs
A combined role taking charge of letter writing while liaising with other university societies in and outside Bristol.

Publicity Officer
Promotes the society and its events through posters, text messages, newsletter and whatever other method they come up with. Takes charge of compiling and sending out the termly BUCA newsletter which is sent to all our members.

Social Secretary
Takes charge of our social events, which includes locating the best eating and drinking establishments in Bristol.
